Sunday my little sister asked me to shoot her. Now there are days where I would like to shoot her, but I quickly realized that’s not what she meant ;) Just kidding of course!!
Really though, it was a gorgeous day, and we got some amazing shots of her. She is so beautiful and made my job easy that day.
I hope you all enjoy the photos from our day as much as we do!!
Today, it snowed in Georgia. Usually that means everyone freaks out, everything gets canceled, no one remembers how to drive, and Publix runs out of milk and bread; the thing is, we usually only get a few flakes. Today we got snow. Real snow. This was Evie’s first REAL snow. I had to take her out, and get some photos. She absolutely loved it, loved the noise it made under her boots, and the prints she left behind, she might have stayed out all night if we had let her. The cold didn’t seem to bother her as much as it affected us. I’m so glad she got to experience the “noshe” and hope it lasts at least through tomorrow so she can play some more.
I love the look of off camera flash, and one night a few months ago I wanted to try it (I’ve been hooked ever since, by the way). I rounded up my sister (Ericka) and daughter (Evie) and we headed out to this little spot on the side of the road, as the sun was setting. We were losing the pretty sunset really fast, so we had to hurry. Then things were cut even shorter due to Evie finding an anthill and sticking her hand in it, poor girl! She was a good sport though!
These photos are still some of my favorites to date!
This little baby girl just happens to be the daughter of a friend I grew up down the street from, it seems no matter where we go to school or live, we end up in the same area! We grew up in Kansas City, and have now made our way to Georgia, isn’t that crazy?!
Congrats H family on your adorable new addition. She is just gorgeous!!
Since the blog is new for me, I thought I would catch up on past shoots, posting them to share now. Better late than never, right?
These girls are adorable. Their mom is one of the sweetest people I’ve met in a long time, and since this shoot, we’ve become friends.
Meet Miss Ava and Miss Adalyn!
I’m Emily, and I am Perky Bird.
I am so lucky to be a photographer. My 20 month old daughter, if she could speak the sentence, I’m sure would say “I am not lucky to be a photographer’s daughter.” She hates my camera, in fact she would much rather be on my side of it, looking at the LCD and pushing buttons. Really though, one day, I think she will realize that she IS lucky to be a photographer’s daughter.
She is my world. (Ok so my husband is a part of it too.) Whether she is rolling around kicking her feet throwing a tantrum, hanging from the countertop, or giving the sweetest kisses only she can give… she makes me, me.
I am so blessed to be able to capture her spirit, her sweet little smile, and how peacefully she sleeps. My camera allows me to capture what my heart sees, and that is priceless.
My hope is that you will allow me into your life, to capture your baby’s smile, your family, and your life.
